You know that sinking feeling when you open a cupboard, and everything tumbles out? Or when you avoid having friends over because you're embarrassed by the mess? I understand that completely.
I'm Jo, a late-diagnosed, non-binary, neurodivergent Professional Organiser based in South London. Before I became a Professional Organiser, I spent years working in high-pressure environments: starting at the Bank of England aged 16, then a decade in investment banking, followed by 25 years responding to humanitarian emergencies worldwide for the UK's Department for International Development and as CEO of RedR UK, a humanitarian capacity building charity. That work, from the 2004 tsunami to the Ebola crisis, earned me an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Portsmouth. But the skill that matters most in your home is the one I use in every crisis: finding calm in the midst of chaos and building systems that work.
Why I Do This
When I was at university studying Latin American Development Studies, a careers questionnaire came back with a prospective career as a "humanitarian.", so the answer was spot on. I've always had a strong sense of wanting to help people, particularly those who needed it most, and so that is what I did, for 25 years, helping those affected by humanitarian emergencies.
But the work took its toll, and I burnt out really badly in 2022, and I knew that I had to do something different. I still wanted to do something that helped people, and a coach suggested I find my Ikigai, the Japanese philosophy of finding your reason for being. What came out of that was a love of systems, processes, and coordination and so I linked the two passions together; helping people and implementing strong systems and processes as a Professional Organiser. Now, at the end of the day, I see someone feeling lighter, relieved and better about their things, their home, and their environment. It is, when I think about it, exactly the same work. In a disaster zone or in someone's spare room, the goal is the same: to help people feel better in the space they inhabit.

Hello, my name is Jo
I create order from chaos
And then came the diagnoses. Autism at 51. ADHD at 53. There is grief in that, a mourning for a life that might have looked different if someone had spotted it earlier. But there is also, eventually, clarity, and a way of understanding yourself that you didn't have before. Suddenly, so much made sense: why certain things had always been harder, why I had always built systems obsessively, and why environments mattered to me so profoundly.
It also gave me a platform. Not "I'm abnormal" or "I'm just a duck out of water." But: this is autism. This is what has been driving things all along. And now I know that I can do something with it. The same with my ADHD. I learnt to use my diagnoses positively.
That is what I bring into every home in which I work. Not just the systems thinking from 25 years of humanitarian response, but the lived experience of what it means when your brain works differently, and having the tools and mechanisms to address those differences.
How I Help You Transform Your Space
You want a home that feels calm instead of chaotic. I provide the expert guidance, practical systems, and judgement-free support to make that happen, so you can finally breathe easy in your own space.
When you work with me, you'll rediscover happiness in your home
We do: Help you rediscover what it feels like to walk into a room and breathe. We celebrate every decision made and every bag donated. We find the lightness, the joy, and sometimes the laughter in the process of letting go.
We don't: Turn your home into a showroom you’re scared to touch or measure success purely in before-and-after photographs.
Your Transformation, My Expertise
My Values
You'll gain the skills and confidence to maintain your organised space
We do: Teach you the thinking behind every system we create together, so you understand it and can maintain it yourself. We build your confidence gradually, leaving you feeling more capable after every session, creating systems simple enough that everyone around you can use them, including the messiest one!
We don't: Do everything for you and disappear, leaving you dependent on us returning, or build systems so elaborate they require a manual, or make you feel that staying organised is something only a professional can manage.
I'll keep my word and deliver reliable, professional support through every step
We do: Arrive when we say we will, deliver what we promise, and treat your home, your possessions, and your personal stories with complete discretion and respect. We hold a safe, non-judgmental space where nothing you show us will ever surprise or shock us.
We don't: Share details of your home or situation with anyone or push you to make decisions you’re not ready to make. We don’t judge what we see, ever, under any circumstances.
Your new systems will be practical, maintainable, and kind to the planet
We do: Build systems designed for real life, messy mornings, exhausted evenings, and everything in between. We prioritise donating to local charities and community organisations over sending things to landfill, and work with what you already own before recommending anything new.
We don't: Create systems that only function when life is going perfectly or reach for “buy more containers” as the default solution. We don’t ignore the environmental cost of what we help you release.
