Decluttering & Organising in Notting Hill & Holland Park

No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.

Notting Hill and Holland Park occupy one of west London's most coveted corners, with grand stucco townhouses on the main garden squares, colourful terraces on the streets made famous by Portobello Road, and lateral conversions throughout. Holland Park itself draws some of the wealthiest households in the capital, with properties that are large, beautifully finished, and, despite their size, frequently lacking the practical storage infrastructure that a modern family actually needs. Notting Hill is more varied, with a mix of ultra-high-net-worth residents on the principal streets and young professional households in the conversions behind them.

What both areas share is a strong aesthetic and homes that are expected to look a particular way, alongside the very normal reality of too much stuff and not enough systems to manage belongings. The gap between the curated and the chaotic can be wide, and it's usually behind closed doors.

Order from Chaos provides professional decluttering and organising services in Notting Hill and Holland Park, with individual, face-to-face sessions at £45 per hour and virtual sessions available from £75.

A Familiar Story?

Whether you're in Notting Hill proper, the more private streets of Holland Park, or over towards Ladbroke Grove, the pattern is often similar: distinctive period homes where standard storage solutions feel wrong, creative studios where projects have taken over, wardrobes with a genuinely interesting selection and several years of other things too, and family kitchens that somehow never quite function as well as they should. Or you might be a time-poor professional or family needing discreet support, overwhelmed by piles of clutter and not knowing where to start. Maybe you are living with ADHD/ASD, chronic illness, perimenopause, disability, or burnout, or preparing for a home move, renovation, or new baby.

Decluttering and Organising Come Hand in Hand

Decluttering is reducing the overload of items in your home that are distressing to you

Organising is creating functional, practical and sustainable systems for the items you decide to keep.

Most people need both because our homes aren't infinite, and so we need to let go of old things when new things come into our homes. Organising them is how we ensure we can look after them and find them when we need.

So How Does it All Work?

You choose either a 4-hour or 7-hour session. In a typical session we:

  • Agree what area(s) you want to tackle during that session

  • Sort into categories before going through them systematically

  • Work out what works for your brain, so that we can store your belongings effectively

Why Me?

After more than 25 years working in humanitarian responses for governments, the United Nations, the Red Cross and NGOs, I decided I wanted to help people differently. I was awarded an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate for responding to emergencies, working in high-pressure environments, and creating order from chaos, and I knew that experience would work well, helping people create order from chaos in their homes. Then I learnt I have both ASD and ADHD (AuDHD).

What that means for you is simple:

  • I work well under pressure and during crises

  • My ADHD means I understand executive function, and my Autism (ASD) means I love storage boxes and baskets with labels

  • I bring ADHD-friendly / neurodivergent-friendly approaches to my work with you - these techniques work whether you are neurodivergent or neurotypical

  • As someone who has been through Perimenopause / Menopause, I also understand how brain function during this time is a barrier to organisation.

The houses here are beautiful and frequently impractical to move into or out of. Tall, narrow Georgian and Victorian terraces with staircases that require planning, basement levels that add complexity, and neighbours close enough that a chaotic move day is noticed.

I plan the move properly before it happens, visiting both properties, mapping how the new space will work, and briefing the removal team so moving day runs to a schedule rather than improvising around problems. The packing is done with care. The unpacking is completed to a standard where the home is genuinely usable, not just emptied of boxes. You arrive, and it works.

I will always try to dispose of items in the most environmentally friendly way possible. If I can, I take items to my local Repair Cafe to give them a second lease of life.
