Decluttering & Organising in West Sussex

No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.

Transform your West Sussex home from 'I can't cope' to calm

West Sussex stretches from the London commuter belt towns of Crawley and Horsham in the north to the coast at Worthing, Littlehampton, and Bognor Regis in the south, with Chichester, one of the most historically significant and affluent cathedral cities in the country, anchoring the west. The housing stock is as varied as the geography: executive homes in the commuter villages around Haywards Heath and East Grinstead, Georgian townhouses and flint cottages in Arundel and Petworth, and a significant proportion of larger family homes across the county's more rural stretches. People come to West Sussex for the quality of life, and they tend to stay.

West Sussex homes often present the specific challenge of a property that has grown into its surroundings, outbuildings, garages, and garden rooms that have absorbed the overflow from the main house, sometimes for many years. The scale can feel significant, but it responds well to a methodical approach.

Order From Chaos provides professional decluttering and organising across West Sussex with a calm, non-judgemental, ADHD-friendly approach. We work at a pace that fits your life and your brain. Individual, face-to-face sessions are £45 per hour, and virtual sessions are available from £75.

Common Scenarios in West Sussex Homes

Whether you’re in Chichester, Horsham, Petworth, or Haywards Heath, the pattern is often similar:

Family kitchens that are drowning in things you can't cook with

Wardrobes stuffed with clothes you don’t wear or that went out of fashion twenty years ago

Spare rooms that house all the household's stuff with no 'home'

Home offices that don't support being productive

Garages and outbuildings full of items that need a thorough sort out

Decluttering v Organising and Why You Usually Need Both

Decluttering is reducing what's in the way. Organising is creating easy systems for what stays.

Most clients need a blend: we clear the bottlenecks, then set up simple systems you can maintain without constant effort.

How sessions work (4 or 7 hours at £45/hour)

You choose either a 4-hour or 7-hour session. In a typical session we:

  • Agree the outcome for the day (e.g., 'functional kitchen', 'calm bedroom', 'paperwork triage')

  • Sort fast, keeping decision fatigue in mind

  • Create storage and 'homes' that match your habits

  • Reset the space so it's usable immediately

  • Plan the next small step so progress sticks

No judgement, no pressure, no forcing. You stay in control of decisions, I bring structure, momentum and calm.

Calm, experienced support — without judgement

Before founding Order From Chaos, I spent over two decades leading complex operations in high-pressure, humanitarian crisis management, and I was awarded an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate for this work. I have ASD and ADHD (AuDHD).

What that means for you is simple:

  • When things feel overwhelming, I stay calm

  • When decisions feel impossible, I bring structure

  • When chaos feels personal, I remove shame

  • I bring ADHD-friendly / neurodivergent-friendly approaches to my work with you

You're not hiring someone to judge your home. You're hiring someone trained to bring order to complexity, gently, practically, and at your pace.

Need A Monthly Reset?

Staying organised isn't a one-off event. It's something that needs revisiting as life changes, routines shift, and the systems you set up six months ago stop working the way they used to.

The Monthly Organising Retainer (MORe) Plan is built for just that. Rather than booking in a single session, you get regular, ongoing support to maintain what's working and adjust what isn't, before small pockets of clutter turn into another full reset. It's a six-month minimum commitment, then rolling monthly after that, so it flexes around your life rather than locking you into something rigid.

If you'd like to talk through whether the MORe Plan is the right fit, check out the MORe page, or book a free 15-minute discovery call.

What clients say

I tried a decluttering service before and honestly it was awful. I felt judged, uncomfortable, and like I had to explain and justify myself constantly. Then I found Jo and what a difference. She’s neurodivergent too, so she just got it. No awkwardness, no shame, no pressure. She was kind, encouraging, and totally non-judgemental — and really careful about pacing things based on what I could manage that day (which, for me, changes a lot depending on my health).

— Trish, Croydon (ADHD + ASD)
