Decluttering & Organising in West Sussex
No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.
West Sussex stretches from the London commuter belt towns of Crawley and Horsham in the north to the coast at Worthing, Littlehampton, and Bognor Regis in the south, with Chichester, one of the most historically significant and affluent cathedral cities in the country, anchoring the west. The housing stock is as varied as the geography: executive homes in the commuter villages around Haywards Heath and East Grinstead, Georgian townhouses and flint cottages in Arundel and Petworth, and a significant proportion of larger family homes across the county's more rural stretches. People come to West Sussex for the quality of life, and they tend to stay.
West Sussex homes often present the specific challenge of a property that has grown into its surroundings, outbuildings, garages, and garden rooms that have absorbed the overflow from the main house, sometimes for many years. The scale can feel significant, but it responds well to a methodical approach.
Order From Chaos provides professional decluttering and organising across West Sussex with a calm, non-judgemental, ADHD-friendly approach. We work at a pace that fits your life and your brain. Individual, face-to-face sessions are £45 per hour, and virtual sessions are available from £75.
My Clients Are Often
A time-poor professional or executive wanting a calmer home, less stress and a smoother routine
Overwhelmed by the sheer volume of decisions after a busy week at work
Living with ADHD/ASD, chronic illness, perimenopause, or burnout and needing someone who understands the challenges you face and can work with those to meet your decluttering and organisation goals
Preparing for a move, needing help unpacking post-move, starting a big renovation, or undergoing a major life change

West Sussex Home Woes
Whether you’re in Chichester, Horsham, Petworth, or Haywards Heath, there is often a similar pattern to homes, such as family kitchens that are drowning in things you can't cook with, wardrobes stuffed with clothes you don’t wear or that went out of fashion twenty years ago, spare rooms that house all the household's stuff with no 'home', home offices that don't support being productive or garages and outbuildings full of items that need a thorough sort out.
Decluttering v Organising and Why Both Are Needed
Decluttering is reducing the number of items in your space and Organising is ensuring those items are stored in a way that works for you
It is rare to only need to organise.
You choose either a 4-hour or 7-hour session. In a typical session we:
Decide on the priority area to tackle in that session
Sort items into categories so that we know how much you have of each category and how much needs to be reduced
Work through items in an orderly way, so that you can make informed decisions
Work out a plan for storing what remains

Judgement-Free Support
I have lived experience of both autism (ASD) and ADHD, being diagnosed in my early fifties. My autism diagnosis led me to start Order from Chaos, after over 25 years spent working for governments, the UN, and NGOs to help those affected by humanitarian emergencies. I was awarded an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate for that work.
What that means for you is simple:
I excel at managing crises
I have honed my organisational skills over years
I will never judge
I bring ADHD-friendly / neurodivergent-friendly approaches to my work with you, whether you are neurodivergent or not.
I have experience of perimenopausal/menopausal brain fog which I bring to my work with you
Read more about my background on the About page.

Instead of having to look at bags stacked in your hall, at the end of the session, I will take some bags away and/or arrange a charity collection

At the end of the session, if there is time, I will take your belongings to a charity shop near you. If not, they will go to a charity shop in Croydon.

Need A Monthly Reset?
Staying organised isn't a one-off event. It's something that needs revisiting as life changes, routines shift, and the systems you set up six months ago stop working the way they used to.
The Monthly Organising Retainer (MORe) Plan is built for just that. Rather than booking in a single session, you get regular, ongoing support to maintain what's working and adjust what isn't, before small pockets of clutter turn into another full reset. It's a six-month minimum commitment, then rolling monthly after that, so it flexes around your life rather than locking you into something rigid.
If you'd like to talk through whether the MORe Plan is the right fit, check out the MORe page, or book a free 15-minute discovery call.
