Decluttering & Organising in Crystal Palace

Who this is for

You might be:

A time-poor professional or family who wants to get out of the door in the morning, on time and without stress

Overwhelmed and unable to even consider where to start decluttering

Living with ADHD/ASD, chronic illness, perimenopause, disability or burnout and need a safe pair of hands to walk, talk and guide you through the process

Preparing for a move, renovation, new baby, or downsizing and want a helping hand

How sessions work (4 or 7 hours at £45/hour)

You choose either a 4-hour or 7-hour session. In a typical session we:

  • Agree the outcome for the day (e.g., 'functional kitchen', 'calm bedroom', 'paperwork triage')

  • Sort fast, keeping decision fatigue in mind

  • Create storage and 'homes' that match your habits

  • Reset the space so it's usable immediately

  • Plan the next small step so progress sticks

No judgement, no pressure, no forcing. You stay in control of decisions, I bring structure, momentum and calm.

Common Scenarios in Crystal Palace Homes

Whether you're near the triangle, close to Crystal Palace Park, or in the quieter streets towards Norwood, Sydenham, Anerley or Penge, the pattern is often similar:

Victorian terraces with bags of character but not enough built-in storage

Creative and craft spaces where supplies have taken over surfaces and spare rooms

Home offices set up during lockdown that never quite got properly sorted

Kitchens where the surfaces have disappeared under everyday life

Lofts and box rooms full of items moved in years ago and never touched since

Not enough space for your Crystal Palace FC Football Memorabilia

No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.

Transform your Crystal Palace home from 'I can't cope' to calm

Crystal Palace has a creative, independent spirit that sets it apart from much of South London. The triangle, the food market, the dinosaurs in the park, it's a neighbourhood with genuine character. And behind those characterful Victorian terraces, many households are quietly living with homes that have accumulated more than their systems can handle.

Whether you're in the streets around the park, up towards Upper Norwood, or over towards Gipsy Hill, the challenge is often the same: a full life has outpaced your storage. Order From Chaos provides professional decluttering and organising in Crystal Palace with a calm, non-judgemental, ADHD-friendly approach, bringing order without removing the personality that makes your home yours.

Decluttering v Organising and Why You Usually Need Both

Decluttering is reducing what's in the way. Organising is creating easy systems for what stays.

Most clients need a blend: we clear the bottlenecks, then set up simple systems you can maintain without constant effort.

Calm, experienced support — without judgement

Before founding Order From Chaos, I spent over two decades leading complex operations in high-pressure, humanitarian crisis management, and I was awarded an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate for this work. I have ASD and ADHD (AuDHD).

What that means for you is simple:

  • When things feel overwhelming, I stay calm

  • When decisions feel impossible, I bring structure

  • When chaos feels personal, I remove shame

  • I bring ADHD-friendly / neurodivergent-friendly approaches to my work with you

You're not hiring someone to judge your home. You're hiring someone trained to bring order to complexity, gently, practically, and at your pace.

Local, Practical Donation Support

At the end of each session, I’ll donate items to the local charity shop(s) you prefer, such as Shelter, Cancer Research UK, St Christopher's Hospice, and the RSPCA.

Please note: Opening times and donation rules can change, so we'll double-check before drop-off.

What clients say

My experience with Jo was wonderful. I asked for their services to help me unpack after I moved to my current home so I could start fresh and be better organised. Jo was so amazing with ideas on how to use space including how to use my furniture to set up my little office separate from my main dining room while keeping it cool and modern. She did a particularly exceptional job with my kitchen, as it was a bit smaller than the one I had before. She also gave me ideas for other things I could do in the future to maximise space and make it even more functional. I can’t believe it’s now been over two years, and my kitchen is still neat and tidy! I can’t wait to using them again very soon, I need to sort out my cupboard under the stairs!
