Decluttering & Organising in Crystal Palace

No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.

Transform your Crystal Palace Home

Crystal Palace sits on one of south London's highest points, with views across the city and a neighbourhood character that's distinctly its own, creative, independent, and increasingly sought after. The housing stock is predominantly large Victorian terraces and semis, many on steep streets with bay windows and high ceilings, and a significant proportion now converted into flats. These are characterful homes with original features and, typically, very little built-in storage; the Victorian builders were not thinking about capsule wardrobes and kitchen organisation systems.

Crystal Palace attracts a particular kind of household: dual-income professionals, creative freelancers, young families who've traded square footage in a trendier postcode for actual space in which to live. The accumulation tends to reflect an active, full life: books, equipment, children's belongings, and the particular chaos of a home that's also partly a workspace.

Order From Chaos provides professional decluttering and organising in Crystal Palace with a calm, non-judgemental, ADHD-friendly approach, bringing order without removing the personality that makes your home yours. Individual, face-to-face sessions are £45 per hour, and virtual sessions are available from £75.

What to Expect

Decluttering is reducing belongings down to a meaningful state, and Organising is creating easy systems for what you have chosen to keep.

A session starts at four hours, up to seven hours, £45 an hour. We start by agreeing what a good outcome looks like, such as a hallway you can get a pushchair through, or a cupboard that finally shuts. Sorting moves at a pace that keeps decision fatigue from taking over. Everything that stays gets a spot that suits your routine, not a showroom. You're left with a space that works from the moment I leave. Before I go, we map out one manageable next step.

Recognise Any of This?

Whether you're near the triangle, close to Crystal Palace Park, or in the quieter streets towards Norwood, Sydenham, Anerley or Penge, the pattern is often similar: Victorian terraces with bags of character but not enough built-in storage, creative and craft spaces where supplies have taken over surfaces, home offices set up during lockdown that never quite got properly sorted, and lofts and box rooms full of items moved in years ago and never touched since.

Or you might be a time-poor professional or family who wants to get out the door on time, overwhelmed by where to even start, neurodivergent, living with a chronic illness, perimenopause, disability, or burnout. You may be moving to or from Crystal Palace and need support.

Calm, experienced support

Before founding Order from Chaos, I spent over two decades leading humanitarian operations for NGOs, governments, and the UN. I was recognised for this work with an OBE in 2016 and an Honorary Doctorate in 2017. I was diagnosed as autistic (ASD) in 2023 and with ADHD in 2025. That means I have spent my life devising systems to help ensure that I function effectively; I now use those skills to help others. As such, I offer neurodivergent-friendly, perimenopause-friendly and ADHD-friendly services.

Years of experience turning chaotic situations into workable ones is what's on offer here, moving at whatever pace actually suits you.

What clients say

WOW thanks Jo. I hadn’t realised how much the clutter in my house was weighing me down. You did a great job, leaving not only my house clearer, but also my mind clearer and my mood uplifted. I have now saved a lot of money on Therapy!

If time permits, I will drop your items off at local charity shops. Westow Hill and Westow Street have a strong cluster of charity shops, such as Shelter, Cancer Research, the RSPCA or St Christopher's Hospice.
