Decluttering & Organising in Streatham

No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.

Transform your Streatham home from 'I can't cope' to calm

Streatham is a long, diverse high road with a series of genuinely distinct residential pockets on either side of it: the larger Victorian and Edwardian semis on the roads towards Streatham Common, the more compact terraces closer to the high street, and the quieter streets of Streatham Hill and Streatham Park, where the housing stock is more substantial. It's a neighbourhood in transition, attracting a growing number of young professionals and families priced out of Clapham, Balham, and Dulwich, alongside a well-established longer-term community. The result is a real mix of households, but the underlying accumulation challenge tends to look similar across all of them.

Victorian and Edwardian properties dominate, with the storage challenges that come with that: high ceilings, bay windows, and not much in the way of built-in storage anywhere. A busy household fills a Streatham terrace quickly.

Order From Chaos provides professional decluttering and organising in Streatham with a calm, non-judgemental, ADHD-friendly approach, working at a pace that actually works for you. Individual, face-to-face sessions are £45 per hour, and virtual sessions are available from £75.

Common Scenarios in Streatham Homes

Whether you're on Streatham Hill, Vale or near the Common, or in the streets towards Norbury, the pattern is often similar:

Large family homes where every room has gradually taken on too many functions

Kitchens where meal prep is obstructed by stuff

Wardrobes and spare rooms that are overdue a proper sort

Home offices that were never quite got organised for working from home

Garages and loft spaces containing years of 'I'll deal with that later' decisions

Decluttering v Organising and Why You Usually Need Both

Decluttering is reducing what's in the way. Organising is creating easy systems for what stays.

Most clients need a blend: we clear the bottlenecks, then set up simple systems you can maintain without constant effort.

How sessions work (4 or 7 hours at £45/hour)

You choose either a 4-hour or 7-hour session. In a typical session we:

  • Agree the outcome for the day (e.g., 'functional kitchen', 'calm bedroom', 'paperwork triage')

  • Sort fast, keeping decision fatigue in mind

  • Create storage and 'homes' that match your habits

  • Reset the space so it's usable immediately

  • Plan the next small step so progress sticks

No judgement, no pressure, no forcing. You stay in control of decisions, I bring structure, momentum and calm.

Calm, experienced support — without judgement

Before founding Order From Chaos, I spent over two decades leading complex operations in high-pressure, humanitarian crisis management, and I was awarded an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate for this work. I have ASD and ADHD (AuDHD).

What that means for you is simple:

  • When things feel overwhelming, I stay calm

  • When decisions feel impossible, I bring structure

  • When chaos feels personal, I remove shame

  • I bring ADHD-friendly / neurodivergent-friendly approaches to my work with you

You're not hiring someone to judge your home. You're hiring someone trained to bring order to complexity, gently, practically, and at your pace.

What clients say

I am so grateful to Jo for her help in decluttering my room. As anxious as I was at the start, she was very warm and friendly. What I felt would be overwhelming and difficult turned out to be very easy and satisfying as we worked through together. She was very gentle and understanding in some of the moments where I struggled, but turned what would have been a hard job into something that was almost fun, where we could also have a chuckle. She also helped me understand and see how i can maintain the new space with minimal effort. it was definitely worth it as I have reclaimed my space again and am so happy with the outcome.
