Decluttering & Organising in Banstead
No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.
Transform your Banstead home from 'I can't cope' to calm
Banstead sits just inside the Surrey border, a proper village with a busy high street, wide green spaces, and substantial homes that attract professional families looking for more space and a quieter pace of life. The housing stock here is predominantly large detached and semi-detached properties, many built in the 1930s and postwar period, with generous rooms that feel spacious until, gradually, they don't. Lofts, garages, and utility rooms tend to absorb the overflow for years before anyone notices quite how much has accumulated. It's the kind of place where people put down roots and stay, and the longer you stay, the more a home takes on a life of its own.
Whether you're in the village itself, in the residential streets around Nork, or further out towards Burgh Heath and Woodmansterne, the challenge is often the same: a home that has grown with you, filling up gradually until the systems stop working. Long-term residents sometimes find themselves navigating decades of accumulated belongings — their own, and sometimes a parent's, too. Order from Chaos provides professional decluttering and organising services in Banstead, Surrey, with individual, face-to-face sessions at £45 per hour and virtual sessions available from £75.
Who this is for
You might be:
A time-poor professional or family who wants a calmer home, less rushing about, and a smoother daily routine
Overwhelmed by decisions, of what to keep, where to put it, or what to do first
Living with ADHD/ASD, chronic illness, perimenopause, or burnout and the brain fog is stopping you acting
Preparing for a move, renovation, new baby, or simply tired or trying to stay organised and failing.

Common Scenarios in Banstead Homes
Whether you're in Banstead village, Nork, or the surrounding Surrey countryside, the pattern is often similar:
Large detached homes with multiple reception rooms that have all taken on storage functions
Garages that haven't been parked in for years
Loft spaces filled with the whole family's accumulated years of belongings
Family kitchens and utility rooms which have become the first stop for anything and everything
Home offices where there are papers everywhere and none of them are in order

Decluttering v Organising and Why You Usually Need Both
Decluttering is reducing what's in the way. Organising is creating easy systems for what stays.
Most clients need a blend: we clear the bottlenecks, then set up simple systems you can maintain without constant effort.

How sessions work (from 4 to 7 hours at £45/hour)
Sessions last for a minimum of 4-hours, up to 7 hours. In a typical session we:
Agree on the outcome for the day (e.g., 'get my car back in my garage', or 'clear the loft')
We sort through things quickly, keeping decision fatigue in mind
Create storage and homes for your belongings that match your habits
Reset the space so it's usable immediately
Plan the next small step so progress sticks
Either take away your items for donation or arrange collection.
No judgement, no pressure, no forcing. You stay in control of decisions, I bring structure, momentum and calm.

Calm, experienced support — without judgement
Before founding Order From Chaos, I spent over two decades leading complex operations in high-pressure, humanitarian crisis management, and I was awarded an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate for this work. I have ASD and ADHD (AuDHD).
What that means for you is simple:
When things feel overwhelming, I stay calm
When decisions feel impossible, I bring structure
When chaos feels personal, I remove shame
I bring ADHD-friendly / neurodivergent-friendly approaches to my work with you
You're not hiring someone to judge your home. You're hiring someone trained to bring order to complexity, gently, practically, and at your pace.

St Christopher's Hospice is my charity of choice. If you're a UK taxpayer and would like to Gift Aid your donation, you can register directly with St Christopher's here and pass me your donor number to quote at drop-off.
What clients say
Jo has helped me tackle an overwhelming play room and also my ‘cupboard of doom’ full of kids arts and crafts. Everything has a home and is labelled beautifully!
I will definitely book another session soon.
Thanks Jo!
