Decluttering & Organising in Redhill

No judgement. Sustainable systems. Calm support.

Well connected to everywhere except the back of that cupboard.

Redhill grew up around the railway rather than a medieval market square, with direct trains to London Victoria and London Bridge in around thirty minutes and a town centre that's been through significant regeneration in recent years. The housing stock comprises Victorian terraces close to the centre, spacious Edwardian houses around Redhill Common and Crosslands Road, and a good supply of family homes in Merstham and Earlswood just outside it. Prices pull in a lot of families and first-time buyers who still want the North Downs on their doorstep and a doable commute into London.

What Redhill homes have in common, whatever their era, is a household that's expanded faster than the storage. A converted Victorian terrace runs out of built-in space quickly; a 1930s semi in Earlswood usually has more room but a garage and loft that have become the default answer to “where does this go”.

How I Work in Your Home

A session is four or seven hours and costs £45 an hour, and involves two related jobs: decluttering, which removes what's blocking a space, and organising, which builds a system and process that works for you and your family. Redhill has a mix of Victorian terraces near the centre, roomier family houses around Earlswood and Merstham, as well as newer developments. Each tends to need a different balance of the two, which we work out together at the start. At the start of the day, we chat about the area or areas that are causing you the most concern and prioritise.

We break things down into smaller categories, then work through them systematically, being cognisant of the potential for decision fatigue. Once we know what you are keeping, we work together to establish what storage, system and process work for you. Then we action those decisions so that you're left with a space that works immediately.

FAQs

Where do donated items go? I'll take donations to Redhill's town centre options if they are open, donate them to Croydon charity shops or arrange collection at no extra charge.

What does it cost? Individual sessions cost £45 an hour with a four-hour minimum, so £180 for the shortest booking. A 50% deposit secures the date, with the balance due on the day.

Will you force me to get rid of anything? No. I'm not a minimalist, and I won't make you be one either. The goal is a space that works for you, not one that looks like it belongs to someone else.

Sessions run 4–7 hours at £45/hour. Full details on how sessions work:

Organisational Excellence

Before this, I spent over twenty years in high-pressure humanitarian crisis management, work that led to an OBE and an Honorary Doctorate. I have ASD and ADHD (AuDHD), diagnosed as an adult.

What that means for you is simple:

  • A messy room doesn't rattle me

  • I help you find a way through decisions that feel stuck

  • There's no judgement here, whatever state a room is in

  • I bring an ADHD-friendly / neurodivergent-friendly lens to the whole session

You won't be judged for the state a room is in. You're hiring someone trained to bring calm, practical order to it, at your pace.

Is Your Kitchen Chaos?

A kitchen that looks tidy on the surface can still be exhausting to use if the storage doesn't make sense, and you can't find any of the five jars of mixed herbs you've bought, some of which date back to 2008.

Kitchen organising isn't about buying matching containers; it's about building a system so that everything has an obvious, logical place, and that you can see what you have. That simple technique reduces items going out of date or you buying duplicates that you don't need.

A 15-minute discovery call is free and the right place to begin. You can also find out more on the Kitchen Organising Page.
